Meet Avidan

Avidan is a Chief Cantor, musician, and educator based in Switzerland and Berlin. He holds two degrees in education (secondary and special education) and has a rare gift for connecting with kids. As a Chief Cantor for communities across Europe, he has led countless community Shabbats, mastering prayers and Torah readings in a rich variety of traditions: Ashkenazi, Yekke, Yemenite, Sephardi, Moroccan, and more. But his true talent lies in the warm, patient, and playful approach he brings to every child. He has prepared many boys and girls in Israel and Europe for their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, including children on the autism spectrum, those with ADHD, and kids who are just beginning to learn Hebrew. He's not a rigid institution or a strict teacher—he's like a caring big brother, a true friend who turns stress into joy. He prepares your child for their part; you organize the celebration with your community.

Teaches in: Hebrew, English, German & French — plus a little Swiss German, Swedish, Czech & Polish

Questions parents ask

Does my child need to know Hebrew?

Not at all. Avidan teaches in your child's language and can use phonetic transliteration — the meaning matters more than perfect Hebrew.

How long is each session?

Short and gentle — about 20–30 minutes, twice a week, adjusted to your child's focus that day.

What if my child loses focus or doesn't connect?

That is completely okay. There is no pressure and no commitment — the free intro session is simply to see if there is a spark.

Do you run the ceremony too?

No — Avidan prepares your child for their part. You arrange the celebration in your own community, your way.

Can sessions take place in person?

When it's technically possible — yes. It just needs to be arranged in advance.
